Sitting on a tree covered knoll overlooking the Napa Valley is Rombauer Vineyards which was founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer. The winery features caves that extend for over a mile into the hillside and they provide a constant temperature and humidity which result in optimum conditions for aging Rombauer wines.
Their unique style of Chardonnay has developed over time with select vineyards from the Carneros region. The cool climate and clay soils offer ideal conditions for their Chardonnay grapes.
The 2012 Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay was aged for ten months in American and French Oak. It is a soft yellow color that will darken with age. You’ll notice bright, vibrant tropical fruit aromas flowing from the glass while underlying grapefruit and lime add depth and character to the aroma. The palate features layers of cantaloupe, pineapple and vanilla. A mouthwatering finish leaves you wanting another sip. And the flavors only develop further as the wine ages.
Rombauer wines are consistently ranked high in the wine trade journals. Many of the finest restaurants throughout the country include Rombauer wines on their list and feature them by the glass.
