Tucked away in the rolling hills of bluegrass amongst the thoroughbred farms sits one of Kentucky’s oldest and smallest distilleries, the historic Woodford Reserve. The distillery sits on Kentucky’s oldest distillery site where Elijah Pepper began crafting whiskey in 1812.
Woodford boasts one of the only heated cycled barrel houses in the world. This process is to ensure that every drop trickles into the charred and crisped white oak, helping it give Woodford Reserve’s Bourbon its signature color and flavor.
So, what can you expect from Woodford Reserve’s award winning bourbon?
Its signature tasting notes are recognized as a complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa with caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound. This truly unique and valued bourbon has a finished described as silky smooth like cream with a warm satisfying tail. Loved by many, this bourbon is sure to leave an impactful taste on your palate.
Woodford Reserve and the Kentucky Derby have a strong relationship, seeing as Woodford Reserve has been the “Official Bourbon of The Kentucky Derby” for 18 years. This affiliation comes as no surprise seeing as both The Kentucky Derby and Woodford are known for their rich Kentucky traditions.
